Westfield Viaduct has won the National Railway Heritage Structures Award, which recognises successful restoration, modification, or adaptation for new use of any historic railway or tramway civil engineering structure.  The award, sponsored by Translink, recognised the quality of the repairs, with judges describing workmanship and attention to detail of the repairs as “impressive”.   Millar Callaghan were awarded the contract by Balfour Beatty to replace the damaged and broken pattress plates and tie rods which bind the structure together at the top of the sixteen arches along the 200-meter length of the bridge.  We are delighted to have been involved in the restoration of this historic structure.
